One firm account
When you sign up, choose "I represent an accounting firm" or "I am an accountant / sole practice". Your firm's owner and admins manage clients and invitations.
One firm account, one login, every client business. You invite the client, the client approves, your staff get assigned, and you switch between clients from the same menu.
When you sign up, choose "I represent an accounting firm" or "I am an accountant / sole practice". Your firm's owner and admins manage clients and invitations.
Enter the owner's email and, optionally, the business name and your team members. Choose the rights you ask for; the owner can change them before approving. The invitation stays open 90 days.
Upload a CSV or XLSX file of up to 100 rows. Simplebks previews it and flags problems before anything is sent. Each row is an ordinary invitation the owner must approve.
Pre-ticked: financial statements, VAT and WHT reports, the monthly management report, view-only journals and bank reconciliation. Everything else needs the client's tick, changeable any time. See how clients control access.
The client sets how posting rights take effect, and can change it at any time. Every client starts on Owner approval. Once the owner approves a request, repeat the same action and it posts.
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| Owner approval (default) | Your journals, opening balances, chart of accounts changes, capital transfers and reconciliation actions wait for the owner's approval. |
| Accountant-managed | You post those actions directly. |
| Custom | The client picks, action by action, what you post directly. Everything else stays with the owner for approval. |
Choose the staff when you invite the client; change them later with Manage staff. Each person takes one team seat on the client's plan. Adding someone needs the client's approval.
Choose a client in your workspace menu to work in their books without signing out.
You can do what the client has ticked, never more. Never available: recording sales or expenses, deleting transactions, managing their team or roles, changing plan or billing, and committing a year-end close.
Access runs 90 days from the client's approval, then stops. Only the client's owner or admin can renew it, even after it ends. The client can also revoke sooner.

Each person sees only the clients assigned to them. Owners and admins see every client.

Simplebks tells you when the email could not be delivered. The invitation stays in your Awaiting client consent list. Resend it from there after a minute, or withdraw it and send a new one.
They create their business in Simplebks with the email you invited, then open your invitation email again to approve the request.
